Need to get your kids off the couch or away from the X Box? Choosing fun outdoor toys will make your job much easier. An X Box is pretty fun and watching cartoons after school is the way many kids wind down. Unfortunately the real facts are schools are not having PE due to budget cuts and our kids are not playing outside like they used to. Kids need to be active and parents can help choosing outdoor toys that you kids want to play with will help you get them outside.
Outdoor toys do not need to be expensive to get kids moving. Consider a ball. Many balls retail at $1 or $2 and can be used to play kickball, soccer, and many other fun games that we used to play when we were kids. Once you start the game, watch the kids around the neighborhood come and play too.
Ride On Toys also are great for getting your kids up and moving. These toys are a bit more expensive but if you give the toy as a gift for a special occasion such as a Christmas toy or birthday present, the cost will be worth it. For toddlers, choose a ride on toy that has a handle for mom or dad to help push while the little one is learning how to use their feet to move the toy forward. For older children, consider a ride on toy such as a ride on tractor, ambulance or dump truck. Watch your kids use their imaginations with these fantastic toys. There are even pedal cars with your favorite baseball team on them. Yankees fan? Choose the Yankee’s pedal car for your child.
For even older kids, take a look at trampolines and pogo sticks. I used to love jumping on my pogo stick way back in the old days and I bet your kids will love this toy too and will probably be the only ones in the neighborhood to own one.
